Select Cruise Vacations in Mexico, California Coast, Caribbean and Mediterranean Cancelled
Alaska Sailings Held for Possible Cruise Restart in United States
Hi everyone,
As we continue to work with government and port authorities to finalize the plans for our return to cruising, we have cancelled sailings in Mexico, California Coast, Caribbean and the Mediterranean due to ongoing international travel restrictions. The following cruise vacations are being cancelled:
- California Coast and Mexico sailings on Ruby Princess® through August 21, 2021
- Caribbean sailings on Caribbean Princess® through August 21, 2021
- Remaining 2021 Mediterranean Season on Enchanted PrincessSM
We are continuing discussions with various United States and Canadian government officials to try to preserve a portion of the Alaska 2021 cruise season and hope to have some good news to share with you in the near future.
All guests on a cancelled cruise, whether paid in full or partially paid, will have an opportunity to choose from the options detailed below for how they would like us to handle their 2021 booking. They can do so by using this online form ❯.
The deadline for selecting an option is June 15, 2021. After that time, all bookings that have not chosen an option will automatically receive the Future Cruise Credit (FCC) option outlined below.
As with previous announcements, we are providing you with 24 hours’ notice so you can contact your clients directly about this change and advise them of the options available. Your client will subsequently receive an email regarding the cancellation which will outline their options.
➤ Cruise & compensation options for impacted guests
Guests have 3 choices.
- Transfer to an equivalent replacement cruise: Guests can elect to have their booking transferred to an equivalent cruise with the added benefit of price protection, since we will maintain the 2021 price per day. This option is available whether a guest has already paid in full or is just deposited for their booking. Please refer to the Voyage Cancellation/Replacement List❯ to determine your clients equivalent replacement cruise.
- Future Cruise Credit (FCC): Guests can choose to accept an FCC equivalent to 100% of the cruise fare paid plus an additional non-refundable bonus FCC equal to 10% of the cruise fare paid (minimum $25 USD*). FCCs can be used on any cruises booked by and sailing by December 31, 2022.
- Refund: Guests can choose to receive a refund of monies paid toward the booking to the original form of payment.
Please also note that once the booking has been transferred and guests who accept a new replacement booking then wish to move to a different sailing date – or possibly a new destination – you will be able to manage this for them just like any normal booking change using POLAR Online (or through your GDS system). Guests who cancel will not be able to rebook later at their 2021 fare, as price protection is not possible at that point, similar to how you would normally move a booking from one sailing to the next.
For all guests who accept a new booking, money paid to Princess in excess of the cruise fare for Princess Vacation Protection, taxes, fees and port expenses, hotel packages or transfers will be moved to the new booking. Princess EZair, shore excursions and special service items will be refunded.
Travel Advisor Commission: Commission paid in 2021 will be transferred to the new booking for guests who are already paid in full and accept and remain booked on the replacement 2021- 2022 booking. Please also note that commission will not be recalled should your client decide to cancel their 2021 - 2022 price-protected booking by July 15, 2021. This convenience is in recognition of the critical role you all play in our ongoing success.
FCC redemption: FCCs for these cancelled cruises can be used toward a deposit on a future booking, however, they cannot be applied toward air or hotel. Please note that FCCs in lieu of refund (limited to up to 100% of cruise fare) are refundable, but bonus FCCs are not. If your client changes their mind and later requests a refund, the initial FCC will be refunded and the Bonus FCC will be cancelled. FCCs will continue to be commissionable.
